Do I Need Any Licences?
Alcohol
The Village Hall has a licenced bar which can be provided for events, please state when booking that you require a bar. No other sale of alcohol is allow on the premises, with the exception of raffles where the alcohol is prizes in sealed containers such as bottles of wine.
If you are serving alcohol but not charging for it you don't need a licence but you will need to inform us when booking that there will be alcohol on the premises. No 'bring you own' alcohol is to be consumed when the hall provided bar is open.
Music Licence
For 'commercial' hire, where you charge for your class or event, and use recorded or live music then you will probably need your own. The Music Licence collects fees for both PRS & PPL. Their formal wording is 'any third party hire to commercial organisations & individuals earning an income from providing the activity such as aerobics classes, practice & social dance class/sessions or any event where the profit does not go entirely to the voluntary organisation... '
We recommend that you contact PRS/PPL for more information if you are running a commercial business as the hall does not hold a licence which will cover these hires.
